2：12博士因为在梦中被主指示，不要回去见希律，就从别的路回本地去了。
And being warned of God in a dream that they should not return to Herod； they departed into their own country another way。
2：13他们去后，有主的使者向约瑟梦中显现，说，起来，带着小孩子同他母亲，逃往埃及，住在那里，等我吩咐你。因为希律必寻梢小孩子要除灭他。
And when they were departed； behold； the angel of the Lord appeareth to Joseph in a dream； saying； Arise； and take the young child and his mother； and flee into Egypt； and be thou there until I bring thee word： for Herod will seek the young child to destroy him。
2：14约瑟就起来，夜间带着小孩子和他母亲往埃及去。
When he arose； he took the young child and his mother by night； and departed into Egypt：
2：15住在那里，直到希律死了。这是要应验主藉着先知所说的话，说，我从埃及召出我的儿子来。
And was there until the death of Herod： that it might be fulfilled which was spoken of the Lord by the prophet； saying； Out of Egypt have I called my son。
2：16希律见自己被博士愚弄，就大大发怒，差人将伯利恒城里，并四境所有的男孩，照着他向博士仔细查问的时候，凡两岁以里的，都杀尽了。
Then Herod； when he saw that he was mocked of the wise men； was exceeding wroth； and sent forth； and slew all the children that were in Bethlehem； and in all the coasts thereof； from two years old and under； according to the time which he had diligently enquired of the wise men。
2：17这就应了先知耶利米的话，说，
Then was fulfilled that which was spoken by Jeremy the prophet； saying；
2：18在拉玛听见号？？大哭的声音，是拉结哭他儿女，不肯受安慰，因为他们都不在了。
In Rama was there a voice heard； lamentation； and weeping； and great mourning； Rachel weeping for her children； and would not be forted； because they are not。
2：19希律死了以后，有主的使者，在埃及向约瑟梦中显现，说，
But when Herod was dead； behold； an angel of the Lord appeareth in a dream to Joseph in Egypt；
2：20起来，带着小孩子和他母亲往以色列地去。因为要害小孩子性命的人已经死了。
Saying； Arise； and take the young child and his mother； and go into the land of Israel： for they are dead which sought the young child's life。
2：21约瑟就起来，把小孩子和他母亲带到以色列地去。
And he arose； and took the young child and his mother； and came into the land of Israel。
2：22只因听见亚基老接着他父亲希律作了犹太王，就怕往那里去。又在梦中被主指示，便往加利利境内去了。
But when he heard that Archelaus did reign in Judaea in the room of his father Herod； he was afraid to go thither： notwithstanding； being warned of God in a dream； he turned aside into the parts of Galilee：
2：23到了一座城，名叫拿撒勒，就住在那里。这要应验先知所说，他将为拿撒勒人的话了。
And he came and dwelt in a city called Nazareth： that it might be fulfilled which was spoken by the prophets； He shall be called a Nazarene。

3：1那时，有施洗的约翰出来，在犹太的旷野传道，说，
In those days came John the Baptist； preaching in the wilderness of Judaea；
3：2天国近了，你们应当悔改。
And saying； Repent ye： for the kingdom of heaven is at hand。
3：3这人就是先知以赛亚所说的，他说，在旷野有人声喊着说，豫备主的道，修直他的路。
For this is he that was spoken of by the prophet Esaias； saying； The voice of one crying in the wilderness； Prepare ye the way of the Lord； make his paths straight。
3：4这约翰身穿骆驼毛的衣服，腰束皮带，吃的是蝗虫野蜜。
And the same John had his raiment of camel's hair； and a leathern girdle about his loins； and his meat was locusts and wild honey。
3：5那时，耶路撒冷和犹太全地，并约旦河一带地方的人，都出去到约翰那里。
Then went out to him Jerusalem； and all Judaea； and all the region round about Jordan；
3：6承认他们的罪，在约旦河里受他的洗。
And were baptized of him in Jordan； confessing their sins。
3：7约翰看见许多法利赛人和撒都该人，也来受洗，就对他们说，毒蛇的种类，谁指示你们逃避将来的忿怒呢。
But when he saw many of the Pharisees and Sadducees e to his baptism； he said unto them； O generation of vipers； who hath warned you to flee from the wrath to e？
3：8你们要结出果子来，与悔改的心相称。
Bring forth therefore fruits meet for repentance：
3：9不要自己心里说，有亚伯拉罕为我们的祖宗。我告诉你们，神能从这些石头中给亚伯拉罕兴起子孙来。
And think not to say within yourselves； We have Abraham to our father： for I say unto you； that God is able of these stones to raise up children unto Abraham。
3：10现在斧子已经放在树根上，凡不结好果子的树，就砍下来，丢在火里。
And now also the axe is laid unto the root of the trees： therefore every tree which bringeth not forth good fruit is hewn down； and cast into the fire。
3：11我是用水给你们施洗，叫你们悔改。但那在我以后来的，能力比我更大，我就是给他提鞋，也不配。他要用圣灵与火给你们施洗。
I indeed baptize you with water unto repentance： but he that eth after me is mightier than I； whose shoes I am not worthy to bear： he shall baptize you with the Holy Ghost； and with fire：
3：12他手里拿着簸箕，要扬净他的场，把麦子收在仓里，把糠用不灭的火烧尽了。
Whose fan is in his hand； and he will throughly purge his floor； and gather his wheat into the garner； but he will burn up the chaff with unquenchable fire。
3：13当下，耶稣从加利利来到约旦河，见了约翰，要受他的洗。
Then eth Jesus from Galilee to Jordan unto John； to be baptized of him。
3：14约翰想要拦住他，说，我当受你的洗，你反倒上我这里来吗。
But John forbad him； saying； I have need to be baptized of thee； and est thou to me？
3：15耶稣回答说，你暂且许我。因为我们理当这样尽诸般的义。（或作礼）于是约翰许了他。
And Jesus answering said unto him； Suffer it to be so now： for thus it beeth us to fulfil all righteousness。 Then he suffered him。
3：16耶稣受了洗，随既从水里上来。天忽然为他开了，就看见神的灵，彷佛鸽子降下，落在他身上。
And Jesus； when he was baptized； went up straightway out of the water： and； lo； the heavens were opened unto him； and he saw the Spirit of God descending like a dove； and lighting upon him：
3：17从天上有声音说，这是我的爱子，我所喜悦的。
And lo a voice from heaven； saying； This is my beloved Son； in whom I am well pleased。

4：1当时，耶稣被圣灵引到旷野，受魔鬼的试探。
Then was Jesus led up of the Spirit into the wilderness to be tempted of the devil。
4：2他禁食四十昼夜，后来就饿了。
And when he had fasted forty days and forty nights； he was afterward an hungred。
4：3那试探人的进前来对他说，你若是神的儿子，可以吩咐这些石头变成食物。
And when the tempter came to him； he said； If thou be the Son of God； mand that these stones be made bread。
4：4耶稣却回答说，经上记着说，人活着，不是单靠食物，乃是靠神口里所出的一切话。
But he answered and said； It is written； Man shall not live by bread alone； but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God。
4：5魔鬼就带他进了圣城，叫他站在殿顶上，（顶原文作翅）
Then the devil taketh him up into the holy city； and setteth him on a pinnacle of the temple；
4：6对他说，你若是神的儿子，可以跳下去。因为经上记着说，主要为你吩咐他的使者，用手托着你，免得你的脚碰在石头上。
And saith unto him； If thou be the Son of God； cast thyself down： for it is written； He shall give his angels charge concerning thee： and in their hands they shall bear thee up； lest at any time thou dash thy foot against a stone。
4：7耶稣对他说，经上又记着说，不可试探主你的神。
Jesus said unto him； It is written again； Thou shalt not tempt the Lord thy God。
4：8魔鬼又带他上了一座最高的山，将世上的万国，与万国的荣华，都指给他看，
Again； the devil taketh him up into an exceeding high mountain； and sheweth him all the kingdoms of the world； and the glory of them；
4：9对他说，你若俯伏拜我，我就把这一切都赐给你。
And saith unto him； All these things will I give thee； if thou wilt fall down and worship me。
4：10耶稣说，撒但退去吧。（撒但就是抵当的意思乃魔鬼的别名）因为经上记着说，当拜主你的神，单要事奉他。
Then saith Jesus unto him； Get thee hence； Satan： for it is written； Thou shalt worship the Lord thy God； and him only shalt thou serve。
4：11于是魔鬼离了耶稣，有天使来伺候他。
Then the devil leaveth him； and； behold； angels came and ministered unto him。
4：12耶稣听见约翰下了监，就退到加利利去。
Now when Jesus had heard that John was cast into prison； he departed into Galilee；
