For whatsoever is born of God overeth the world： and this is the victory that overeth the world； even our faith。
5：5胜过世界的是谁呢。不是那信耶稣是神儿子的吗。
Who is he that overeth the world； but he that believeth that Jesus is the Son of God？
5：6这藉着水和血而来的就是耶稣基督。不是单用水，乃是用水又用血。
This is he that came by water and blood； even Jesus Christ； not by water only； but by water and blood。 And it is the Spirit that beareth witness； because the Spirit is truth。
5：7并且有圣灵作见证，因为圣灵就是真理。
For there are three that bear record in heaven； the Father； the Word； and the Holy Ghost： and these three are one。
5：8作见证的原来有三，就是圣灵，水，与血。这三样也都归于一。
And there are three that bear witness in earth； the Spirit； and the water； and the blood： and these three agree in one。
5：9我们既领受人的见证，神的见证更该领受了。（该领受原文作大）。因神的见证，是为他儿子作的。
If we receive the witness of men； the witness of God is greater： for this is the witness of God which he hath testified of his Son。
5：10信神儿子的，就有这见证在他心里。不信神的，就是将神当作说谎的。因不信神为他儿子作的见证。
He that believeth on the Son of God hath the witness in himself： he that believeth not God hath made him a liar； because he believeth not the record that God gave of his Son。
5：11这见证，就是神赐给我们永生，这永生也是在他儿子里面。
And this is the record； that God hath given to us eternal life； and this life is in his Son。
5：12人有了神的儿子就有生命。没有神的儿子就没有生命。
He that hath the Son hath life； and he that hath not the Son of God hath not life。
5：13我将这些话写给你们信奉神儿子之名的人，要叫你们知道自己有永生。
These things have I written unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God； that ye may know that ye have eternal life； and that ye may believe on the name of the Son of God。
5：14我们若照他的旨意求什么，他就听我们。这是我们向他所存坦然无惧的心。
And this is the confidence that we have in him； that； if we ask any thing according to his will； he heareth us：
5：15既然知道他听我们一切所求的，就知道我们所求于他的无不得着。
And if we know that he hear us； whatsoever we ask； we know that we have the petitions that we desired of him。
5：16人若看见弟兄犯了不至于死的罪，就当为他祈求，神必将生命赐给他。有至于死的罪，我不说当为这罪祈求。
If any man see his brother sin a sin which is not unto death； he shall ask； and he shall give him life for them that sin not unto death。 There is a sin unto death： I do not say that he shall pray for it。
5：17凡不义的事都是罪。也有不至于死的罪。
All unrighteousness is sin： and there is a sin not unto death。
5：18我们知道凡从神生的必不犯罪。从神生的必保守自己，（有古卷作那从神生的必保护他），那恶者也就无法害他。
We know that whosoever is born of God sinneth not； but he that is begotten of God keepeth himself； and that wicked one toucheth him not。
5：19我们知道我们是属神的，全世界都卧在那恶者手下。
And we know that we are of God； and the whole world lieth in wickedness。
5：20我们也知道神的儿子已经来到，且将智慧赐给我们，使我们认识那位真实的，我们也在那位真实的里面，就是在他儿子耶稣基督里面。这是真神，也是永生。
And we know that the Son of God is e； and hath given us an understanding； that we may know him that is true； and we are in him that is true； even in his Son Jesus Christ。 This is the true God； and eternal life。
5：21小子们哪，你们要自守，远避偶像。
Little children； keep yourselves from idols。 Amen。

1：1作长老的写信给蒙拣选的太太，（太太作教会下同），和他的儿女，就是我诚心所爱的。不但我爱，也是一切知道真理之人所爱的。
The elder unto the elect lady and her children； whom I love in the truth； and not I only； but also all they that have known the truth；
1：2爱你们是为真理的缘故，这真理存在我们里面，也必永远与我们同在。
For the truth's sake； which dwelleth in us； and shall be with us for ever。
1：3恩惠，怜悯，平安，从父神和他儿子耶稣基督，在真理和爱心上，必常与我们同在。
Grace be with you； mercy； and peace； from God the Father； and from the Lord Jesus Christ； the Son of the Father； in truth and love。
1：4我见你的儿女，有照我们从父所受之命令遵行真理的，就甚欢喜。
I rejoiced greatly that I found of thy children walking in truth； as we have received a mandment from the Father。
1：5太太阿，我现在劝你，我们大家要彼此相爱。这并不是我写一条新命令给你，乃是我们从起初所受的命令。
And now I beseech thee； lady； not as though I wrote a new mandment unto thee； but that which we had from the beginning； that we love one another。
1：6我们若照他的命令行，这就是爱。你们从起初所听见当行的，就是这命令。
And this is love； that we walk after his mandments。 This is the mandment； That； as ye have heard from the beginning； ye should walk in it。
1：7因为世上有许多迷惑人的出来，他们不认耶稣基督是成了肉身来的。这就是那迷惑人的，敌基督的。
For many deceivers are entered into the world； who confess not that Jesus Christ is e in the flesh。 This is a deceiver and an antichrist。
1：8你们要小心，不要失去你们（有古卷作我们）所作的工，乃要得着满足的赏赐。
Look to yourselves； that we lose not those things which we have wrought； but that we receive a full reward。
1：9凡越过基督教训，不常守着的，就没有神。常守这教训的，就有父又有子。
Whosoever transgresseth； and abideth not in the doctrine of Christ； hath not God。 He that abideth in the doctrine of Christ； he hath both the Father and the Son。
1：10若有人到你们那里，不是传这教训，不要接他到家里，也不要问他的安。
If there e any unto you； and bring not this doctrine； receive him not into your house； neither bid him God speed：
1：11因为问他安的，就在他的恶行上有分。
For he that biddeth him God speed is partaker of his evil deeds。
1：12我还有许多事要写给你们，却不愿意用纸墨写出来。但盼望到你们那里，与你们当面谈论，使你们的喜乐满足。
Having many things to write unto you； I would not write with paper and ink： but I trust to e unto you； and speak face to face； that our joy may be full。
1：13你那蒙拣选之姐妹的儿女都问你安。

The elder unto the wellbeloved Gaius； whom I love in the truth。
1：2亲爱的兄弟阿，我愿你凡事兴盛，身体健壮，如你的灵魂兴盛一样。
Beloved； I wish above all things that thou mayest prosper and be in health； even as thy soul prospereth。
1：3有弟兄来证明你心里存的真理，正如你按真理而行，我就甚喜乐。
For I rejoiced greatly； when the brethren came and testified of the truth that is in thee； even as thou walkest in the truth。
1：4我听见我的儿女们按真理而行，我的喜乐就没有比这个大的。
I have no greater joy than to hear that my children walk in truth。
1：5亲爱的弟兄阿，凡你向作客旅之弟兄所行的，都是忠心的；
Beloved； thou doest faithfully whatsoever thou doest to the brethren； and to strangers；
1：6他们在教会面前证明了你的爱。你若配得过神，帮住他们往前行，这就好了。
Which have borne witness of thy charity before the church： whom if thou bring forward on their journey after a godly sort； thou shalt do well：
1：7因他们是为主的名（原文作那名）出外，对于外邦人一无所取。
Because that for his name's sake they went forth； taking nothing of the Gentiles。
1：8所以我们应该接待这样的人，叫我们与他们一同为真理作工。
We therefore ought to receive such； that we might be fellowhelpers to the truth。
1：9我曾略略的写信给教会。但那在教会中好为首的丢特腓不接待我们。
I wrote unto the church： but Diotrephes； who loveth to have the preeminence among them； receiveth us not。
1：10所以我若去，必要题说他所行的事。就是他用恶言妄论我们。还不以此为足，他自己不接待弟兄，有人愿意接待，他也禁止，并且将接待弟兄的人赶出教会。
Wherefore； if I e； I will remember his deeds which he doeth； prating against us with malicious words： and not content therewith； neither doth he himself receive the brethren； and forbiddeth them that would； and casteth them out of the church。
1：11亲爱的兄弟阿，不要效法恶，只要效法善。行善的属乎神。行恶的未曾见过神。
Beloved； follow not that which is evil； but that which is good。 He that doeth good is of God： but he that doeth evil hath not seen God。
