f Jabeshgilead： and yet so they sufficed them not。
21：15百姓为便雅悯人后悔，因为耶和华使以色列人缺了一个支派（原文作使以色列中有了破口）。
And the people repented them for Benjamin； because that the LORD had made a breach in the tribes of Israel。
21：16会中的长老说，便雅悯中的女子既然除灭了，我们当怎样办理，使那馀剩的人有妻呢。
Then the elders of the congregation said； How shall we do for wives for them that remain； seeing the women are destroyed out of Benjamin？
21：17又说，便雅悯逃脱的人当有地业，免得以色列中涂抹了一个支派。
And they said； There must be an inheritance for them that be escaped of Benjamin； that a tribe be not destroyed out of Israel。
21：18只是我们不能将自己的女儿给他们为妻。因为以色列人曾起誓说，有将女儿给便雅悯人为妻的，必受咒诅。
Howbeit we may not give them wives of our daughters： for the children of Israel have sworn； saying； Cursed be he that giveth a wife to Benjamin。
21：19他们又说，在利波拿以南，伯特利以北，在示剑大路以东的示罗，年年有耶和华的节期。
Then they said； Behold； there is a feast of the LORD in Shiloh yearly in a place which is on the north side of Bethel； on the east side of the highway that goeth up from Bethel to Shechem； and on the south of Lebonah。
21：20就吩咐便雅悯人说，你们去，在葡萄园中埋伏。
Therefore they manded the children of Benjamin； saying； Go and lie in wait in the vineyards；
21：21若看见示罗的女子出来跳舞，就从葡萄园出来，在示罗的女子中各抢一个为妻，回便雅悯地去。
And see； and； behold； if the daughters of Shiloh e out to dance in dances； then e ye out of the vineyards； and catch you every man his wife of the daughters of Shiloh； and go to the land of Benjamin。
21：22他们的父亲或是弟兄若来与我们争竞，我们就说，求你们看我们的情面，施恩给这些人，因我们在争战的时候没有给他们留下女子为妻。这也不是你们将女子给他们的。若是你们给的，就算有罪。
And it shall be； when their fathers or their brethren e unto us to plain； that we will say unto them； Be favourable unto them for our sakes： because we reserved not to each man his wife in the war： for ye did not give unto them at this time； that ye should be guilty。
21：23于是便雅悯人照样而行，按着他们的数目从跳舞的女子中抢去为妻，就回自己的地业去，又重修城邑居住。
And the children of Benjamin did so； and took them wives； according to their number； of them that danced； whom they caught： and they went and returned unto their inheritance； and repaired the cities； and dwelt in them。
21：24当时以色列人离开那里，各归本支派，本宗族，本地业去了。
And the children of Israel departed thence at that time； every man to his tribe and to his family； and they went out from thence every man to his inheritance。
21：25那时，以色列中没有王，各人任意而行。
In those days there was no king in Israel： every man did that which was right in his own eyes。

1：1当士师秉政的时候，国中遭遇饥荒，在犹大伯利恒，有一个人带着妻子和两个儿子，往摩押地去寄居。
Now it came to pass in the days when the judges ruled； that there was a famine in the land。 And a certain man of Bethlehemjudah went to sojourn in the country of Moab； he； and his wife； and his two sons。
1：2这人名叫以利米勒，他的妻名叫拿俄米。他两个儿子，一个名叫玛伦，一个名叫基连，都是犹大伯利恒的以法他人。他们到了摩押地，就住在那里。
And the name of the man was Elimelech； and the name of his wife Naomi； and the name of his two sons Mahlon and Chilion； Ephrathites of Bethlehemjudah。 And they came into the country of Moab； and continued there。
1：3后来拿俄米的丈夫以利米勒死了，剩下妇人和她两个儿子。
And Elimelech Naomi's husband died； and she was left； and her two sons。
1：4这两个儿子娶了摩押女子为妻，一个名叫俄珥巴，一个名叫路得，在那里住了约有十年。
And they took them wives of the women of Moab； the name of the one was Orpah； and the name of the other Ruth： and they dwelled there about ten years。
1：5玛伦和基连二人也死了，剩下拿俄米，没有丈夫，也没有儿子。
And Mahlon and Chilion died also both of them； and the woman was left of her two sons and her husband。
1：6她就与两个儿妇起身，要从摩押地归回。因为她在摩押地，听见耶和华眷顾自己的百姓，赐粮食与他们。
Then she arose with her daughters in law； that she might return from the country of Moab： for she had heard in the country of Moab how that the LORD had visited his people in giving them bread。
1：7于是她和两个儿妇起行离开所住的地方，要回犹大地去。
Wherefore she went forth out of the place where she was； and her two daughters in law with her； and they went on the way to return unto the land of Judah。
1：8拿俄米对两个儿妇说，你们各人回娘家去吧，愿耶和华恩待你们，像你们恩待已死的人与我一样。
And Naomi said unto her two daughters in law； Go； return each to her mother's house： the LORD deal kindly with you； as ye have dealt with the dead； and with me。
1：9愿耶和华使你们各在新夫家中得平安。于是，拿俄米与她们亲嘴。她们就放声而哭，
The LORD grant you that ye may find rest； each of you in the house of her husband。 Then she kissed them； and they lifted up their voice； and wept。
1：10说，不然，我们必与你一同回你本国去。
And they said unto her； Surely we will return with thee unto thy people。
1：11拿俄米说，我女儿们哪，回去吧，为何要跟我去呢。我还能生子作你们的丈夫吗。
And Naomi said； Turn again； my daughters： why will ye go with me？ are there yet any more sons in my womb； that they may be your husbands？
1：12我女儿们哪，回去吧，我年纪老迈，不能再有丈夫。即或说，我还有指望，今夜有丈夫可以生子。
Turn again； my daughters； go your way； for I am too old to have an husband。 If I should say； I have hope； if I should have an husband also to night； and should also bear sons；
1：13你们岂能等着他们长大呢，你们岂能等着他们不嫁别人呢。我女儿们哪，不要这样，我为你们的缘故，甚是愁苦，因为耶和华伸手攻击我。
Would ye tarry for them till they were grown？ would ye stay for them from having husbands？ nay； my daughters； for it grieveth me much for your sakes that the hand of the LORD is gone out against me。
1：14两个儿妇又放声而哭，俄珥巴与婆婆亲嘴而别，只是路得舍不得拿俄米。
And they lifted up their voice； and wept again： and Orpah kissed her mother in law； but Ruth clave unto her。
1：15拿俄米说，看哪，你嫂子已经回她本国，和她所拜的神那里去了，你也跟着你嫂子回去吧。
And she said； Behold； thy sister in law is gone back unto her people； and unto her gods： return thou after thy sister in law。
1：16路得说，不要催我回去不跟随你，你往哪里去，我也往那里去。你在哪里住宿，我也在那里住宿。你的国就是我的国，你的神就是我的神。
And Ruth said； Intreat me not to leave thee； or to return from following after thee： for whither thou goest； I will go； and where thou lodgest； I will lodge： thy people shall be my people； and thy God my God：
1：17你在哪里死，我也在那里死，也葬在那里。除非死能使你我相离，不然，愿耶和华重重地降罚与我。
Where thou diest； will I die； and there will I be buried： the LORD do so to me； and more also； if ought but death part thee and me。
1：18拿俄米见路得定意要跟随自己去，就不再劝她了。
When she saw that she was stedfastly minded to go with her； then she left speaking unto her。
1：19于是二人同行，来到伯利恒。她们到了伯利恒，合城的人就都惊讶。妇女们说，这是拿俄米吗。
So they two went until they came to Bethlehem。 And it came to pass； when they were e to Bethlehem； that all the city was moved about them； and they said； Is this Naomi？
1：20拿俄米对他们说，不要叫我拿俄米（拿俄米就是甜的意思），要叫我玛拉（玛拉就是苦的意思），因为全能者使我受了大苦。
And she said unto them； Call me not Naomi； call me Mara： for the Almighty hath dealt very bitterly with me。
1：21我满满的出去，耶和华使我空空的回来。耶和华降祸与我，全能者使我受苦，既是这样，你们为何还叫我拿俄米呢。
I went out full； and the LORD hath brought me home again empty： why then call ye me Naomi； seeing the LORD hath testified against me； and the Almighty hath afflicted me？
1：22拿俄米和她儿妇摩押女子路得，从摩押地回来到伯利恒，正是动手割大麦的时候。
So Naomi returned； and Ruth the Moabitess； her daughter in law； with her； which returned out of the country of Moab： and they came to Bethlehem in the beginning of barley harvest。
